RP1600 Control System

A high resolution 10.4" color touch screen sealed to IP66, that can be optimally positioned to suit the operator via a pivoting arm is used for all machine set-up and control functions.

Animated mimic displays indicate machine status and operation, with active indication of inhibits / alarms. All container specific parameters are saved against unique recipes providing instant machine control configuration for all containers being handled. 1,024 recipes are available, with recipe naming being totally flexible and meaningful.

Single display also provides full control of auger filler (EasiFill or ServoFill) if present. In this case, intelligent check-weigher feed-back is also included as standard.

All motors are variable speed (Conveyor, Scroll, Turret, Turret & Vibration, plus In-feed & Out-feed Tables, auger drive, Stirrer drive if the additional equipment is present). The conveyor & scroll drives are synchronized to the turret speed and track accordingly if machine speed (entered in containers / minute) is changed. All Servo & inverter drives connect to the central control panel via CAN bus link that also monitor each individual drives status and error conditions in the unlikely eventuality of a problem occurring.

Sophisticated diagnostic monitor and alarm reporting is included, providing both pictorial & informative information on any problem, both within the machine itself & if connected, peripheral equipment both downstream & upstream of the Rotoplant.

Ethernet port is included to allow connection to factory network. This allows for remote backup / restore of recipe & machine parameters, and the option to view the control screen in real time remote to the packing line, this can be useful for monitoring production and line efficiency.

An RS232 printer port is also provided allowing hard copy reports to be produced of recipe & machine parameter settings.

The operator panel is multi-lingual, allowing for instant language switching.

Featuring direct drive servo system for use in automatic bag / box presentation machines

The design shown is for use with a Vertical form Fill & seal machine where accurate weighing of portions is required to maintain productivity and remove the requirement of Re-Work. Each discharge is dynamically weighed during filling to ensure exact weight, and discharged alternatively from two filling points, into a collection tube with timing flap. This timing flap reduces the possibility of dust in the sealing area & enables good speed with accuracy on difficult to handle products such as food & Bakery ingredients.

As each portion is weighed, statistical data can be sent via an Ethernet connection to a networked PC or server reference & traceability. Data includes production speed, throughput KG, Batch Size, Standard Deviation, Average weight, min & max weight, no of discharges & CP (Control process data CP CPk+ CPk-). A high resolution colour touch screen continually shows the status of the machine, the weights of each discharged portion and current batch & shift filling statistics.

Recipe recall & bulk product feed set up can also be stored to a Bar code and subsequently selected using bar code reader. This ensures machine set-up integrity without the worry of human error.

The equipment displayed is capable of, but not limited to:-

Making weighed portions from 500 gram to 5000 gram.
Portions above 2500 gram based on double discharge, i.e. both weigh-pans.

25-30 portions/minute at 500 – 1500 gram
20-25 portions/minute at 1501 – 2000 gram
15-20 portions/minute at 2001 – 2500 gram
10-12 portions/minute at 2501 – 5000 gram
