Walking Beam

A brand new range of high speed container transfer systems based up on the walking beam principle were launched during 2005. 2006 saw further developments, with machines being added to the range that are able to fill containers at speeds of 100/minute by means of weight control. These machines are based on high performance servo technology and provide a stable & fast transfer system for rigid containers where alternative in-line transfer systems such as rope or chain conveyors are unsuitable. Filling options include high accuracy program forward weight controlled filling, with facilities for vibration at fill points to compact difficult products. Full de-ionization systems are also available.

Any form of dosing / dispensing heads can be integrated to suit an extremely broad range of filling requirements.

Bulk Fill and Top-up

Operator control is via an advanced “State of the Art” touch screen panel offering efficient and intuitive set-up and control. A high resolution 10.4″ color touch screen sealed to IP66 controls all functions of the machine. All transfer & filling parameters are saved to unique alpha-numeric product codes providing users with ultra rapid change over times.1024 product codes are available ensuring that even the vast range of products and / or containers that in some cases an installation will be required to handle, can be readily be catered for.

The control system provides a host of statistical information, including average weight, standard deviation, CPk, CPk+ & CPk- (6 sigma)

All Servo & inverter drives connect to the central control panel via CAN bus link that also monitor each individual drives status and error conditions in the unlikely eventuality of a problem occurring.

Sophisticated diagnostic monitor and alarm reporting is included, providing both pictorial & informative information on any problem, both within the machine itself & if connected, peripheral equipment both downstream & upstream of the Walking Beam machine.

An Ethernet port is included to allow connection to factory network. This allows for remote backup / restore of recipe & machine parameters, and the option to view the control screen in real time remote to the packing line, this can be useful for monitoring production and line efficiency. Optional “FillerNet” PC software is available for logging all individual discharges, and full statistics of each production run, as well as live graphs illustrating current statistics. This data can subsequently be re-loaded by a “FillerNet” client at any time to review / print raw data, running statistics, and a variety of graphs. Files are saved in “csv” format, and can also be opened by third party applications such as Microsoft Excel for viewing / modeling etc.

An RS232 printer port is also provided allowing hard copy reports to be produced of recipe & machine parameter settings.

The operator panel is multi-lingual, allowing for instant language switching.
